Tonya Abel is an interdisciplinary artist based in Portland, Oregon. With a passionate commitment to self-expression, she explores the realms of mixed media paintings and ceramics, creating captivating works that bridge the gap between these two artistic domains.

In her mixed media paintings, Tonya combines various materials and techniques to produce visually balanced compositions. Her adept use of color, texture, and form gives her artwork a distinct and dynamic quality. Each brushstroke and layer of medium is carefully orchestrated to evoke emotions and invite viewers into her artistic world.

Parallel to her painting practice, she enjoys bringing her creativity to life in three-dimensional form. Using clay as her medium she sculpts large minimalist vessels and glazes them to reflect the natural beauty around her.

Tonya graduated from Marylhurst University with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on art and psychology. She is married and has two children.
